Wanted Poster for the Zodiac Killer

Rare "WANTED" poster issued by the San Francisco Police Department, 8-½"x11", with two sketches of the suspect "Supplementing our Bulletin 87-69 of October 13, 1969. Additional information has developed the above amended drawing of murder suspect known as 'Zodiac'." Extra fine condition. The Zodiac Killer was an unidentified serial killer who operated primarily in Northern California between 1968 and 1969, murdering at least five people and claiming responsibility for additional attacks. The killer gained notoriety by sending taunting letters and cryptograms to newspapers, in which he adopted the name "Zodiac" and threatened further violence. His confirmed victims were attacked in isolated areas around Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco. Despite one of the most extensive criminal investigations in American history, the Zodiac Killer's identity has never been conclusively established, and the case remains officially unsolved.
