Hawksley & Co., 1898-1906 (66) *** Sunderland & South Shield Water Company purchased 7.2 acres of land in 1896 in order to construct the The Seaton Spring pumping station. Along with 4 others in the area, it was built to provide drinking water to North East coastal areas.
