Waylon Jennings' 1953 "Number 2" Fender Telecaster
Waylon Jennings' 1953 "Number 2" Fender Telecaster Electric Guitar W/Road Case, COA and Photo - This 1953 Fender Telecaster electric guitar is documented as one of only five main fully covered guitars used by country music icon Waylon Jennings on stage throughout his career. This guitar comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Waylon Jennings and is documented as his "number 2" guitar. This Telecaster is covered with a hand-tooled leather wrap and is inscribed by Tadeo Gomez on the neck end "TG 6-15-53", and in the neck pocket "Tadeo 6-4-53". The guitar has EMG pickups and a Keith Scruggs peg on low E-string. The guitar comes with a flight case stenciled "WAYLON/NASHVILLE TN 28" which still has the tag of Waylon Jennings's trucking company, Road Inc., an 8" x 10" of Waylon Jennings playing the guitar on stage, and other various ephemera including the summer 1995 issue of Fender Frontline magazine with Jennings on the cover. Waylon Jennings' number one Telecaster is reportedly still with the Jennings family, and his number three guitar, a 1950 Broadcaster, was famously purchased for Keith Urban by Nicole Kidman at a 2009 auction for over $98,000. Please note: Due to the value of this asset shipping times will be slightly longer than normal as the guitar will need to be professionally crated and shipped for proper insurance.
