Bust inspired by the work of Jean Goujon (1510-1566) - a beautifully made brown bust of Diana de Poitiers - 38 cm - Bronze - ca. 1900. This bronze bust of Diana van Poitiers (1499-1566) is inspired by a 16th-century sculpture that was situated on the top of the so-called Diana Fountain, in the garden of d'Anet castle. This monumental fountain was built for Diana of Poitiers, who was Henry II's mistress, and depicts the naked lying goddess Diana, who covered the deer with her arm.
