Weegee (American, 1899-1968) Blind Radio Dealer Murdered in Shop, 153 Avenue A, New York, May 6, 1937 Gelatin silver 7-1/2 x 9-3/8 inches (19.1 x 23.8 cm) Accompanied by a photograph of Joseph Alonzo, 39, the only blind radio engineer in New York. Some one he knew and trusted crept up on "Joe, the Blind Man," whose sensitive fingers earned him a living as a radio shopkeeper, and crushed his skull with two blows.
