With woodcut title page including Ariosto's portrait and device, device repeated on final blank verso, and I Cinque Canti, with woodcut borders and initials, 51 full page woodcut illustrations, and printed marginalia. Orlando Furioso is a famous Italian epic poem of war and romance. Valgrisi's edition was first published in 1556, but its popularity led to several subsequent publications over the next several decades.

Condition Report: Boards with significant rubbing, corners bumped, wear at head of spine with separation and small loss, tail band slightly loose; wormholes at front hinges, cracking at hinges with some separation yet binding sturdy overall; light toning throughout, foxing mostly at endpapers, occasional small wormhole, stain, manuscript, or ink mark; damp staining at margins with larger damp stains at signatures t and u, several pages with small repair with largest on A1.
