Well-detailed terracotta head of Harpokrates, Ptolemaic

A well-detailed terracotta head of Harpokrates, Ptolemaic Egypt, c. 2nd - 1st Century BC, wearing a large bound wreath surmounted by the Double Crown of Upper and Lower Egypt. The features are crisp with remnants of gesso and paint in the recesses. H: 2 3/8 in (6 cm). With all wood base. Ex collection of Howard Mathues, Philadelphia, acquired late 1950's - early 1960's.
