WELLINGTON, ARTHUR RICHARD WELLESLEY, 2ND DUKE OF. 1807-1884. A one-page autograph letter signed, dated London, June 22, 1860. 5 3/8" x 4". In black ink, addressed/noted lower left "Chevalier War Teller (?)," and signed "Yours Sincerely, Wellington." The note reads: "I have signed and sent off the certificate and nothing remains but for me to thank you." Condition: trimmed and laid down on card; an envelope fragment stamped 1838, and an unsigned note fragment are taped verso on the card; light toning and soiling, penciled date in corner. Provenance: Private Collection; acquired from Stanley Gibbons, UK, 2008.
