A Western Asiatic alabaster cosmetic vessel in the form of a horned goat, c. 1500 - 1000 BC, beautifully carved with naturalistic incised features and graceful downward curving horns. The interior of the vessel is extremely well hollowed out and the entire piece shows a high level of craftsmanship. The work of a true master! L: 4 in (10.2cm). Mineral deposits within the recesses. Ex collection of the Czech diplomat Stanislav Kovar (1889-1962).
