Description
1861 Printed by Perkins Bacon Intermediate Perf 14-16 6d purple-brown SG 36, strong colour and remarkably well centred with perfs on all sides, unused, Cat £1200. A very scarce stamp, especially this fine, most examples having misplaced perfs and being cut from the sheet to preserve the design. Ex 'Fremantle', sold at our auction of 11.7.2008 for $990, and 'Dubois' (I), where wrongly noted as having "large-part o.g.", sold for SFr795. Far superior to an example sold at our auction of 2.5.2014 for $1515
