IMPERIAL PUNCTURES - 3mm Hole: 1874 'ONE PENNY' in Green on Perf 12½ 2d yellow with Triple Overprint SG 67b, well centred, light 15-bar '8' cancel of Fremantle, Cat £7500 without puncture. Ex Maurice Burrus, with the Robson Lowe lot-page. Lord Vestey's very fine example sold for £2640. [Submitted to the RPSofV for expertising] Mogens Juhl stated that the Triple Surcharges occurred on the first sheet printed. The sheet was probably in the nature of an essay or trial printing that was still pressed into service. Juhl states that the sheet was divided in half, one part being sent to Geraldton, from which only four examples are recorded. Gary Diffen states that 14 examples are recorded in private hands, of which three have the imperial puncture
