Good example of European (most probably Belgian) percussion pistol dated to ca. 1840, preserved in very good, original condition. Steel lock's plate, trigger guard and hammer decorated with engraved flower scrolls and lines emphising shape of parts. Steel octagonal barrel is rifled, no stamps visible. Original ramrod of steel. Walnut stock with checkered grip. But finished with engraved steel mount with closing. Very good condition for the age, wood finished with hand applied French polish, minor scratches and dents. Steel parts in very good condition with light natural patina. Lock working.
