White jade Replica of an original object - 9 cm (No Reserve Price)

[ translate ]

This jade pei is exquisite and gorgeous, with a symmetrical layout, with a dragon and phoenix on each side. The dragon has an upturned nose, brow tips, leaf-shaped horns, an open mouth, and a curved hooked chin. The shape is similar to the dragon patterns on jades unearthed from the late Warring States Period to the early Western Han Dynasty in Changfeng, Linzi, and the Tomb of the King of Nanyue. The dragon body is rolled up and decorated with arc patterns, grid patterns, twisted silk patterns, etc. The dragon tail transforms into a hook-shaped phoenix head, and there are small holes next to the phoenix eyes for hanging other jade ornaments. It can be seen from the layout of the perforations that this is the last piece of the jade pei in the group, also known as the "shaped pei".
