Condition Report:
The canvas is unlined. Inspection under UV light reveals no obvious signs of retouching. There is a tiny spot of pigment loss in the upper right quadrant and further minor losses to some of the charcoal in places, the latter of which is a result of the artist’s working method. There is very light frame abrasion to the extreme edges, including a spot of gold gilt to the right of the extreme lower edge. There are very light surface scratches in places. The canvas retains its original, unvarnished appearance. This work is in overall very good condition.
