Österreichischer Maler, Kunsterzieher und Grafiker des 20. Jahrhunderts. Vertreter der Moderne nach 1950 und der gegenständlichen Malerei. Studierte an der Kunstgewerbeschule bei Wilhelm Müller-Hofmann gemeinsam mit Arthur Zelger, Rudolf Korunka und Paul Kurt Schwarz. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg als Plakatkünstler und Gebrauchsgrafiker sehr erfolgreich. Von 1954 bis 1976 unterrichtete er Plakatkunst und Illustration an der Graphischen Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt, seine Schüler waren u.a. Manfred Deix und Gottfried Helnwein. Auseinandersetzung mit dem österreichischem Expressionismus von Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka und Herbert Boeckl. Schuf neben Porträts und Figurenbildern auch Landschaften aus dem Wald- und Mühlviertel aber auch von Urlauben aus Kärnten und Tirol.
