Safari chair design by Wilhelm Kienzle for Wohnbedarf Zürich. This safari chair was manufactured in the 1950s. This is one of the first designs that didn't require tools to assemble and disassemble the chairs. The frames are made of oak and were once varnished green. The seat and back rests are made of leather, which has beautifully aged and patinated. The back rest is adjustable and suits your seating position. The safari chair is in good condition. Due to the extendible construction and its age, the chair “creaks” a little when you sit on it. Nothing dramatic, but it should be mentioned. A beautiful piece of design history.
