Wilhelm Schreuer (1866 - 1933) - "A summer stroll with children in the park ", an impressionist oil painting Oil on canvas, painted around 1910. Signature/monogram on the lower right. A large family with many children going for a walk, two dogs playing in the background. The painter probably portrayed himself and his family, his five sons and five daughters were born between 1900 and 1916. Dimensions of picture ca. 70 x 90 cm. In giltwood frame, ca. 85.5 x 106.5 cm.Wilhelm Schreuer, a famous German painter of the Düsseldorf School. He began studying at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 1884. Over the years several of his works were displayed in big international art exhibitions in Cologne and Düsseldorf. He was a painting war reporter in the front lines of Belgium and France during the First World War. Paintings of this popular and important representative of the Düsseldorf art school are displayed in several museums. Cf.
