Nice frame and signed on the bottom left. Willem Jilts Pol (1905-1988) , artist and art critic. In the 1930s, he lived in France, where he painted French and Italian landscapes. At the end of the 1930s, he moved to the Dutch Indies where his daughter Talitha was born in 1940. Pol lived in England from 1948 well into the 1950s. The last decades of his life he lived in southern France, where he passed away in 1988. He left a large body of work behind. The work of Willem Jilts Pol has remained quite recognisable due to the use of pastel colours and a quick, but stylish, use of lines. Due to the typical "fifties" design, his work was appreciated by many art connoisseurs. Without the frame: 49 x 39. With the frame: 60 x 50. This work will be packed with the utmost care before shipping. Of course, pickup is possible.
