William Callow (English, 1812-1908). An antique watercolor painting on paper titled "Chamouny -1853". The work depicts a valley with a chalet and figures, nestled within the towering cliffs and colossal mountains of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, in the French Alps. Artist signature at bottom center of work. Presented under glass with wood frame. Artist name and title at bottom center of matting. Provenance is confirmed by an accompanying auction sticker at lower left, from a Sotheby's auction event, dated March 15, 1990, LOT 158. Sight measures approximately 15.5" x 24"

Dimensions: 25.5 X 33.5 X 1 in.

Condition: Good overall condition with mild surface wear and toning. Frame showing mild storage wear to edges and corners. Estate fresh to the market.
