In the file compiled by the art museum, there is a sense of familiarity as Fett was a St. Louis artist who taught at WashU for a number of years and eventually retired in Mexico City. St. Louis was obviously thought of as a home to him even after he left, and he cultivated his connections to the area. Spanish Landscape was done in Spain in the 50’s during a trip that resulted in a large body of work.
