William Hadd Macelcheran ( Hamilton 1927 - 1999) was one of the most accomplished and versatile figurative sculptors of the twentieth century. From 1960 to 1967 he taught at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, in these years he moved away from architectural works, acquiring an expressive form that became more personal and satirical. His first solo exhibition in Canada took place in 1969 and since then he has exhibited regularly in Canada, the United States and Europe. In the same year he received the Aviva Charter Sculpture Prize in Toronto. In 1973 he founded Deadalus Design, a company intended to promote Mc. Elcheran's philosophy of "New Humanism". From the 70s to the 90s there are numerous exhibitions in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan. Known for his bronze businessmen which are part of major public, corporate and private collections on three continents. In this sculpture he depicts a "Businessman" with his briefcase and bowler hat on his head The lot will be suitably packaged and shipped with agreed couriers and relative online traceability.
