William Hardy, Aberdeen - A mid 19th century silver pair cased pocket watch with later watch chain, circa 1855, the outer (and inner) case with London hallmarks for Sterling silver, verso with monogram, open faced pocket watch with white dial, black Roman numerals and copper coloured hands under a convex bullseye crystal, front loading gilt full plate key wind movement, signed WILLIAM HARDY ABERDEEN No. 147, engraved winged balance cock, lever escapement with chain fusée and 4 pinned cotton reel pillars under a brass cover, inner case, 43mm diameter, verso monogrammed with offset winding aperture, interior with casemaker's mark of Joseph Hirst, 104.7g gross, presented with the winding keys; the chain with mark of William Walter Cashmore, Birmingham 1906, 'rolled curb' links graduating from 8mm to 5mm each part marked, terminating in a swivel catch and jump ring fastenings, T bar suspended from a short length of chain 4cm from the jump ring end, length 29cm, 25.6g (2)
