Oil on board painting by noted Hudson River School painter, William Hart (1823 - 1894). Scottish-born American artist, and Member of the National Academy. Mid-Late 19th century. Fall landscape scene of cattle at a river, with a castle on a hill and autumnal trees. Sunset scene, and a superb composition. Painting is in good condition, with two minor areas of loss at top (right below frame). Some craquelure. Frame is in good condition, with minor wear. Framed with label "Wm.
