Circular with cast with bands of stylized flowers surrounding a coat of arms, supporters and motto "LE ROI ET L'ESTAT" Hallmarked on top, rim, and base, the base also engraved No. 1 / 122 oz. diameter 20 3/4 in. 118 oz. The arms are those of Ashburnham for Bertram Ashburnham, 4th Earl of Ashburnham 1797-1878. In 1840 The Earl commissioned an extensive silver dinner service with a design adapted from Moorish ornament. The service was made by the firm of Storr & Mortimer, mostly between 1836 and 1838.
