Oil on canvas. Richard Wilson was a British painter of Welsh origin. He is one of the most important British landscape painters of the 18th century, and one of the first classical landscape painters of the English school of painting. Includes Jacoby's of Montreal 1968 catalog from their "Highly important paintings by great masters of European and Canadian Art" auction. Shown and described on pp. 42-43 of the catalog, lot #47.
