Winsor McCay, American, c.1886/1871-1934. Pen and ink on illustration board entitled "Ideas" and depicts five horses pulling a chariot with the figure of a man riding on a donkey looking back at them. Artist signed at the lower left along with inscription and signature of Arthur Brisbane, editor of the Evening Journal, that reads "Dear Mr. Wills-Thanks for the fine idea that inspired this Picture". Some discoloration to the illustration board with some spotting. Illustration board is 22 5/8" x 9 1/4" high, within a wood frame with some wear/nicks/scuffs, 28 1/8" x 15 5/8" high overall.
