WINSTON SPENCER CHURCHIL - Real Photo postcard of British Prime Minister Winston Churchill [1874-1965] in his youth, Rotary photo 1908.

A rare postcard sent on September 12, 1908, Churchill was only 32 years old. During those years, Churchill was famous for his service as an officer in the British forces in India, Sudan and South Africa, after his description of his daring flight from Pretoria was published in the periodicals and even written in books. Churchill fled from Chowbio and marched about 480 kilometers to the Portuguese colony of Mozambique, a story that had already made him an hourly hero in Britain at the time, and his initial publication led to his election to Parliament as a conservative in 1900. Churchill quickly advanced British politics and, He was elected as the President of the Chamber of Commerce, the Minister of the Interior, and finally the Minister of the Navy, a post he held during the First World War.

Churchill was born on the family estate of Blenheim Palace (named after the battle in which the Duke of Marlborough took his greatest victory) in Oxfordshire. As is the case with upper-class children at the time, Churchill spent his childhood in boarding school, and as a tender child he was sent to Harrow School. In school, Churchill was rebellious and naturally independent, often punished, unsuccessful in school, and even stuttering (in the same escape described above, the Boers announced a £ 25 reward to the person who would hand him over to them. The announcement of the prize was given said: "His face is pale, his hair is reddish-brown, his mustache is small and almost invisible, slightly nasal and does not properly pronounce the letter "s.)" He refused to study the classic studies of his time (Latin and Ancient Greek) and had a high ability in history and was often the first in his class in this field, and the memories of his loneliness as a child accompanied him all his life. Yet his fame in the British public was well known since his youth, as an officer and later as a political activist. Later to become one of the most influential figures in world history as prime minister of Britain, and as leader leading the world war in fascism, during the fateful period of World War II [1940-1945, and again between 1951 and 1955].

[1] Postcard. 9x14 cm, mailed in February 1908. Very fine condition.
