(12mo) 15x9 cm (6x3½"), original red cloth decoratively stamped in gilt, all edges gilt.
The 1852 first edition had the steel-engraved plates mentioned on the title page, this later edition does not, having been replaced by the evidently less expensive large folding lithograph. Ownership signature of Sylvanus Miller (or Mills?) Jr., on front endpaper, identified in pencil as "railroad engineer in Central America."
Condition Report: Minor wear at extremities; light foxing to early matter; folding lithograph with some short tears and a few neat repairs; very good.
