Wizards Necron 99 Original Production Cel and Original Animation Drawing (Ralph Bakshi, 1977)....
Wizards Necron 99 Original Production Cel and Original Animation Drawing (Ralph Bakshi, 1977). "The time has come. Kill!" Necron 99, later known as Peace, is in pursuit after Weehawk and his ilk after receiving the order to kill all believers in magic by Blackwolf in this original hand-painted production cel with a matching animation drawing. Written, directed, and produced by Bakshi, Wizards was his first foray into fantasy animation after earlier urban-themed films like Fritz the Cat and Heavy Traffic. Theatrically released on 2/9/1977, set on a post-apocalyptic Earth where fairies, elves, and dwarves have reclaimed a ravaged landscape, the story follows the battle between twin wizards: the kindhearted Avatar and the malevolent Blackwolf. With the help of the elf warrior Weehawk, the fairy Elinore, and a reformed assassin named Peace, Avatar sets out to stop Blackwolf's technologically fueled war, ultimately defeating him with a hidden gun. Necron 99's stalking cel figure, measures 3.25" x 5.5", can be seen at the 5:35 timestamp of the animated film. His matching hand-drawn figure, measuring slightly larger at 3.25" x 5.75", is rendered in ink pen and blue colored pencil on a 3-peg hole animation paper. The overall condition is Good to Very Good with faint age-related toning, light faded linework and paint residue, and minor handling wear and edge wear.
