Wonderful Near Eastern bronze horse bit

A wonderful Near Eastern bronze horse bit with cheek pieces in the form of bulls, c. 1200 - 800 BC, each is nicely detailed with well-modeled heads and loops atop the shoulder and rumps for bridle straps. The bit with central round profile and pounded flat and rolled at either end. W: 7 1/8 in (18 cm), check pieces each about 2 1/4 x 4 1/8 in (5.7 x 10.4 cm). Nice mottled green patina and comes with custom lucite base. Ex Hong Kong private collection acquired prior to 1980.
