Title: Wonderful old assemblage of two sawyers cutting a log
Provenance/Additional Info: This is a very detailed assemblage of two sawyers cutting a log with a large saw. They are wearing hand sewn clothing, knit caps, and leather boots. The arms and legs were made out of copper tubing which was then flattened and formed with great detail, including fingers. The bodies and heads are wood. They came from Northern New Hampshire or Maine, and were probably made around 1910. While there is some wear, and loss to the clothing,including one boot, this is in generally very good condition. The figures themselves measure 15" long by 4" wide by 4 3/4" high. They are mounted on a two tiered base 19" long by 7 1/4" wide.
