Woolly Mammoth Jaw Section with Teeth Mammuthus primigenius Pleistocene North Sea This massive specimen consists of a huge lower jawbone from a Woolly Mammoth that has two of the original teeth in place. The enormous molars have an undulating pattern on the grinding surfaces, and both examples of the "Ice Age" dentition are extremely complete. The quality of the bony mandible is outstanding, and any restorative stabilization blends in near perfectly with the light, tannish structure. An exotic North Sea locality adds to the intrigue of this major conversation piece which is sure to be a centerpiece for most any fossil collection. Dating to the Pleistocene, this is a superb Mammuthus fossil, not to mention that each of the elephantine teeth measures over 6.5 inches (16.5 cm) in surface length.
