[ translate ]

Woolly Mammoth Tusk Tip Mammuthus primigenius Pleistocene Alaska, USA Over 18 inches (46 cm) on the curve, this thick tip of a Woolly Mammoth Tusk is rather impressive in its own right. This solid offering features expected concentric rings on the cut end and a rounded-off tip at the other. Lots of golden-brown hues cover the saturated fossil from end to end, with some filled black cracks and a graduated taper at the base. Presented on a custom burl wood cradle base, this tusk section rests in a horizontal orientation for a fine visual display. The partial tusk represents quite a lot of fossilized ivory and affords a great way to effectively own a tusk without needing a ton of display space. Overall Measurements: 18.90 x 7.87 x 7.09 inches (48.00 x 20.00 x 18.00 cm) Disclaimer: The sale or offer to sell, trade, barter, purchase, and transport of fossilized ivory, including that from Mammoths, is currently banned or restricted in nine US states. If you are a resident of New York, New Jersey, Illinois, New Hampshire, California, Nevada, Hawaii, Vermont, or the District of Columbia, you may not bid on a lot with fossilized ivory, including that from Mammoths. If you attempt to bid, your bid shall be canceled, and there shall be no sale. Legislation is constantly subject to change, and it is possible that other states may be added to the list at any time based on the passage of laws. Further, depending on the specific regulations, there might be restrictions or prohibitions on buying, selling, owning, transporting, and shipping ivory, including material from ancient animals such as Mammoths.
