World. Le Tour du Monde en 120 Images Grand Concours du Chocolat Menier, 1956
Sold for £160
World. Jannot (J. B.), Le Tour du Monde en 120 Images Grand Concours du Chocolat Menier, Paris, 1956, colour lithographic map, three inset maps of Israel, Tibet and the Belgium Congo, old folds, slight wear where folds cross, 720 x 1055 mm
(Qty: 1)
A highly decorative map of the world by Chocolat Menier. A red line of travel connects each place name on the map and the seas are coloured by their distance from the equator. Underneath the map is an area to fix 120 ‘tickets’ collected from Menier chocolate products, with three that give clues to ‘Enigmas’ that had to be solved. When completed this part of the map was cut away and sent to Chocolat Menier for a prize. The map is usually found with this ticket area missing but this example lacks just 7 'tickets' and has therefore remained intact.
