World War II U.S.M.C. Canvas Field Equipment Items Including a 1945 Scranton Lace Co. Pouch
A grouping of two United States Marine Corps canvas items from the World War II era. The first item is an olive drab canvas equipment pouch. The front of the pouch is printed with a black ink mark reading U.S.M.C. / SCRANTON LACE CO. / 1945. The pouch is constructed with a rounded base and features a single rectangular pocket on the front face secured by a metal snap fastener. It is fitted with light tan webbing straps. The second item is a rectangular canvas flotation bladder. This piece features a black rubber inflation tube protruding from one side and four metal grommets, one at each corner, with two green webbing straps attached. The canvas face bears faint black ink stamps with partially legible characters reading FLOT and CONT. A separate stamp near the inflation tube reads 10 / 2. Pouch measures approximately 14.5 inches in length and 7.5 inches in width at the opening. Flotation bladder measures approximately 14 inches in length and 9.5 inches in width. Pickup is Monday, Nov. 9, from 11 am to 7 pm at our facility in Lancaster, OH. Alternate pickup day is available by appointment for a $5 fee per lot, or we will provide in-house shipping for this item.
