Elegant bronze statuette representing Moggalana, also known as Kolita, disciple of Buddha. He is kneeling on a stepped base with double rows of lotiform friezes, his hands clasped in anjali mudra, a posture of adoration before the Buddha. He is dressed in a richly embroidered monastic robe. His youthful face expresses deep serenity.

Original lacquered and gilded bronze, trace of polychromy.

Thailand, Rattanakosin period, late 19th century.
