Writing table - Louis Philippe - Burr walnut, Walnut, Wood - mid 19th century

Louis Philippe style center writing desk, half 1800s, walnut, walnut fillet and walnut root. Newly restored, finished with tampon gum. Large shapely legs attached to beveled corners on walnut and root studs. A unique table top of 130 cm in walnut surrounded by an elegant veneer of fillet walnut and walnut root. The interior is made of hard and semihard woods (walnut, chestnut) ; the struts are in walnut and walnut root. Sides and back veneered in walnut and walnut root. Three drawers 70 centimetres long veneered in walnut root with diamond bottom and dovetail joint, pull-out central top. Shapely contour. Some small imperfections due to ageing, with a nice patina. Padlocks need revision, the key is missing.
