He was involved a little bit in selling the second tier of specimens that were found when Wayne Thompson and James Horned [sic] did the first big open pit dig at the Red Cloud. The best pieces were sold for tens of thousands of dollars. After all the dust had settles, there were a few fine pieces left that went for lots less money than the best ones and since I had never managed to get a fine specimen from the mine, I bit the bullet and bought this specimen." - Rock H.
