Wulfenite Red Cloud Mine, Silver District, Trigo Mts,...

[ translate ]

Wulfenite Red Cloud Mine, Silver District, Trigo Mts, La Paz Co., Arizona, USA "A cluster of red bladed wulfenites to about 2 cm. Bought the specimen from Les Presmic [sic] of Tucson [sic], Arizona. He was involved a little bit in selling the second tier of specimens that were found when Wayne Thompson and James Horned [sic] did the first big open pit dig at the Red Cloud. The best pieces were sold for tens of thousands of dollars. After all the dust had settles, there were a few fine pieces left that went for lots less money than the best ones and since I had never managed to get a fine specimen from the mine, I bit the bullet and bought this specimen." - Rock H. Currier You can bet he gritted his teeth as he wrote the check. Still, it's a very nice rock: he didn't make a mistake. Overall Measurements: 3.5 x 2.0 x 1.6 inches (9.0 x 5.0 x 4.0 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from DeNatura (Les Presmyk of Gilbert, AZ) [RHC #6962, acquired 1990] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
