Wulfenite & Mimetite San Francisco Mine, Cerro Prieto,...

Wulfenite & Mimetite San Francisco Mine, Cerro Prieto, Cucurpe, Mun. de Cucurpe, Sonora, Mexico "A cluster of thin transparent orange crystals growing on tiny blebs of orange mimetite. The largest crystal of wulfenite on the specimen measures about 3.5 cm. Bought this from Brad Van Scriver." - Rock H. Currier Due Diligence is a term bandied about rather casually, but sometimes you can see its effects "in the flesh" so to speak. Imagine if you will, opening up a 'pocket' lined with the kind of delicate and frangible crystals that you see here. Imagine trying to remove such things in a hot, humid and dark hole, with bats flitting around - without trashing any of the golden postage stamps that festoon the walls. That's the task that faced the Swoboda/Van Scriver team responsible for extracting the matrix piece you're looking at, along with its relatives. That it exists - out here, is a miracle in itself. You want to see what Due Diligence looks like? Look no further. There is a custom acrylic base. Overall Measurements: 2.6 x 1.6 x 1.0 inches (6.5 x 4.0 x 2.5 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Brad Van Scriver [RHC #5380, acquired 1989] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
