This figurine seems abstract but the artist sees a knight with his lance and shield, hence its title.
Inspired by the Bauhaus, Wxyz explores compositions of more or less suggestive block assemblages.
Wxyz (or "Wxyz1Paris") is a French painter and sculptor born in Paris in 1980.
Coming from the Graffiti movement, his favorite theme is the deformation of the last 4 letters of the alphabet.
In these works the letter serves as a pretext for the exploration of colors and shapes, as a skeleton for abstraction.
Since the confinement linked to Covid-19, the artist has developed a universe of wooden figurines painted with acrylic and enameled porcelain. Here 4 porcelains of different colors were mixed during casting.
