[ translate ]

Y&nbspA FRENCH KINGWOOD AND PARQUETRY CABINET IN LOUIS XVI STYLE LATE 19TH CENTURY Of breakfront outline, gilt metal mounted throughout, the marble top above a pair of cabinet doors 109cm high, 127cm wide, 47cm deepProvenance: From a private collection in Northamptonshire Condition Report: Marble top appears original, there are small lug holes where the corresponding pegs would fit to secure the top when on - the condition report was completed just after arrival at Donnington so good images of the underside of the marble are available - these reveal old splits and cracks and some signs of repair with filler and adhesive Dirt and discolouration to the gilt metal mountsOne small piece of moulded timber to one side is detached but present and will require some repair, other small elements missing, also some signs of filled repair to some parquetry Overall solid and stable when standing, however leg loose on moving, this may require some glue to securely fix in place for full security going forward The top drawer is blind, inside was a key - this is presumably for the cabinet doors but the lock did not unlock at time of report - some oil may be required (though Dreweatts make no guarantees this will solve the problem)Please see additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
