Y A Regency rosewood and brass marquetry inlaid work box, circa 1820, 17cm high, 27cm wide, 20cm deep
Condition Report:
The box bears the usual minor marks, knocks, scuffs and scratches overall consistent with age and use.
There are three or four replacement sections of wood to the top predominantly the corners (circa 1-2cm each).
The raised rectangular section has a small light mark and there are one or two small chips to the corners of the box.
The brass inlay is a little scratched and scuffed overall, though all elements are present. The inlay to the front of the box may have at one point been strengthened or restored.
The interior is fitted with a foldout folio to the cover and a lift-out tray. The turquoise paper is a little marked and there are some losses, and there is wear to the tooled gilt inside.
The foldout folio to the cover has been strengthened with later paper to the sides and underside.
No key present.
