Catalogue Note: The King penguin is the mascot of the Norwegian King's Guard since 1972. The position has been held by three penguins each in the collection of Edinburgh Zoo, the current mascot is named Brigadier Sir Nils Olav III, and is the colonel-in-chief of the regiment.
Condition Report:
Penguin One-
Some minor chips to wooden base. Penguin rotates in places which has resulted in some scratches/grooves to base.
Supporting metal rod pokes out of head to one side (approx. 1inch).
Tear to one side of neck (approx. 3inch).
Penguin Two-
A few minor losses to feathers.
