YACCO - c.1937

“The oil that delivers horsepower—Type XX motor oil—the oil of world records”

Original promotional automotive oil can made of lithographed sheet metal, 2-liter capacity.
21 x 17 x 6.7 cm. “Ets. J.J. Carnaud – Paris”

Illustration “after Marcel BLOCH.”

In good overall condition—
The front panel is superbly preserved, with vivid, deep colors that are remarkably well-preserved and retain a beautiful sheen.
Some minor, localized oxidation on the back and sides, with no significant impact on the main illustration.
The can is still full of its original oil and retains its original cap.

Emerging from the industrial environment of Hispano-Suiza, the Yacco brand was founded in 1920 under the leadership of Jean Dintilhac through the OMO subsidiary, which specialized in lubricants.

In the 1920s and 1930s, the brand established itself through an innovative strategy centered on racing and record-breaking, notably with Voisin automobiles (driven by César Marchand) and later the famous Citroën “Rosalie” models, setting numerous speed and endurance records.
Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine), then Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis) – Île-de-France.
