YU HANQING (1904-1987): A FAMILLE ROSE 'DOVES ON CHERRY BLOSSOM' PLAQUE, DATED 1964

China, Jingdezhen. Of rectangular form, finely decorated in vibrant enamels with a pair of chirping doves sitting on the roof of a house beside a towering cherry tree bearing pink blossoms and green leaves, the wall in the background inscribed 'Long live the people's commune'.

Inscriptions: Lower left, signed, dated, and inscribed, 'A successful year! Celebrating the 15th National Day, September 1964, Liuyisouweng Zhu Yu Hanqing from Zhushan, written in Jingdezhen Ceramics Academy', with two seals, one reading 'Yu Hanqing'. One seal to the right, 'hoping to feel no guilt in my heart'.

Provenance: Dutch trade.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and firing irregularities, little rubbing to enamels. The frame with wear, minor nicks, and light scratches.
