Yak milk jug - Nepal / Tibet, Sherpa/ Tamang

wood, thick encrusted oily patina, traces of old age and usage
The handle is carved in form of a stylized monkey, the vessel is covered with finely worked plaited band patterns.
This beautiful jug was used for milking and storing milk. The drilled holes served for suspension.
