姚元之 隸書六言聯
水墨紙本 立軸 一八三八年作
張槃題識
款識：孝友人生大本，經史天下至文。
集漢〈史晨碑〉字，戊戌十月，竹葉亭生姚元之。
題識：伯昂先生，吾年伯也，精漢隸，深得其奧。道光三十年，庚戌春，以此楹帖見賜。隸法奇古，碑碣中所罕見。檢金石苑橅刊漢新豐令交阯都尉沈君碑有此筆法，今於語鈴中丞處見原搨本，頗與此相肖，信知前輩動筆皆有所本耳。因書數語以記之，時咸豐八年戊午夏四月既望，北平小蓬張槃識。
鈐印：「姚押」、「元」、「元之」、「僕本恨人」、「五不翁」。

註：乾嘉以降，金石風盛，文士以訪碑、拓碑、考據、臨摹為樂。本幅乃一八三八年姚元之集〈史晨碑〉字而成，一八五〇年檢贈張槃。張氏於崇恩處見漢新豐令交阯都尉沈君碑原拓，其字點劃舒展、拖尾細長，與本聯筆法肖似，故記之，亦可一窺時風。
張槃，本名柞枝，字小蓬，河北定興人，官山東武定同知。善作篆隸，亦能畫。性孤傲，不輕爲人作。
「語鈴中丞」即崇恩（1803-1878），正紅旗人，官至山東巡撫、内閣學士。善書，嗜金石碑拓，精鑒藏。

Condition Report:
-Generally in fair to good condition with signs of age. Light stains could be found which can be alleviated by restoration. There were previously cracks and tears which have already been restored. For detailed condition photos and further inquiries, please contact cptghk@sothebys.com.
