Yellow gold and ruby wristwatch, 'Cadenas', circa 1940

Set in yellow gold with calibré-cut rubies, length approximately 180mm,signed Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered, French assay marks for gold and maker's mark.

Signed Van Cleef & Arpels on underside of watch, numbered 44615, French maker's mark and French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Rubies well matched in colour, a couple of cavities and fissures, few nicks and abrasions. Clasp secure. Signs of normal wear to the metal, scratches consistent with use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 62 grams.
