Yellow jade ‘Figure’ seal, Han dynasty
A seal topped by a handle carved in the form of a dignitary kneeling in a reverent posture, with his hands clasped in front of him, concealed beneath wide sleeves, and wearing a tall traditional headdress with a perforation. The piece is carved from olive-toned yellow jade with veins of ochre-brown hues. The square base bears an inscription carved in archaic characters. Han Dynasty (202 BC–220 AD) or later.
