Dr. Hawkes Pharmacy, established in York Beach, Maine ca. 1902, operated in a building constructed at 7 Main Street by Wilson and Ralph Hawkes. The business continued operation until a fire in the 1940's. At a later date the second floor was renovated into a small hotel known as "The Rockaway Hotel" and the building still stands. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
